Healthy and tasty recipes for kids

As kids are becoming very choosy about food and always ask for junk food. So, I thought why not share some recipes for all the mommies who want their kids to eat healthy food and also without stressing?

These are a few recipes that kids will enjoy eating and are healthy too.

1. Sprout chat:

Ingredients:

sprouted green gram(moong) or any sprout, onion, tomato, cumin( jeera)powder, salt, lemon, coriander and green chilli.

 Directions:

Take sprouted green gram in a bowl, add finely chopped onion and tomato, add cumin powder, finely chopped coriander leaves, chilli(as per your kid's taste) and salt.

Mix well all the ingredients. Now add lemon juice and again mix and keep aside for 10 minutes. Have a healthy and tasty chat.

 2. Fenugreek(methi) paratha:

Ingredients:

Fenugreek(methi), chilli, turmeric, salt and wheat flour.

Directions:

  1. Wash the fenugreek leaves and chilli. chop them.
  2. Take wheat flour in a bowl(as per the number of parathas you want), add turmeric powder, salt chopped fenugreek leaves and chilli
  3. Mix them and make a dough by adding water. Now add some oil to make a smooth dough. (same as we do for chapatis).
  4. Make medium size parathas and cook them.
Note: Instead of fenugreek you can use palak or any other leafy vegetable.

3. Sweet green gram(mughori):

This is a sweet dish in Maharashtra.

Ingredients:
green gram(moong), jaggery and cardamom powder.

Directions:
  1. Cook the green gram with the appropriate amount of water. Once they are cooked properly, remove the excess water.
  2. Now, add jaggery to it and mix well until jaggery is melted. (there should be no water when you add jaggery otherwise the moisture in jaggery will create more water to it and make it watery).
  3. At last, add cardamom powder.

4. Paneer fry:

Ingredients:
Paneer, cornflour, red chilli powder and salt.
Directions:
  1. In a bowl take corn flour, add red chilli powder(according to the kid's taste) and salt. Mix it well.
  2. Cut paneer into small cubes. Dip it into the mixture of cornflour to coat it well.
  3. Now, deep fry these cubes until golden colour.
Note: this is not so healthy recipe but instead of buying from out I prefer making it at home for my daughter once in a while. My daughter loves it very much.

5. Carrot sticks:

Ingredients:
Carrot, chat masala, salt(if required).
 Directions:
  1. Cut the carrots into a long stick.
  2. Sprinkle some chat masala and mix well.
Very simple and easy recipe. Loved by kids and is also a better variant for packed foods.

All these recipes are not completely mine but I have added some of my ideas as per my daughter's choice. You can do the same as well according to your kid's choice.
