Potty training is one of the important milestones in the journey of a child's development.
Like every milestone, if well taught then kids learn early. Some babies take time while some learn early.
If your baby is taking time then it's ok. Keep trying. I am still trying🤥.
How and when to teach kids?
My daughter is not potty trained and I am still trying to do so. When first time I tried, she holds the potty and so, I had to take her to the washroom. She still does not sit while she poops even when I take her to the toilet.
So, I asked my sister. How did she train her daughter? I don't have experience with this but I want new mommies to train their kids properly and not do what I did.
As per my sister's experience:
Starting potty training as early as possible. Once kids become aware of it then they won't do what is out of their comfort.
Explain to them why you want them to do the potty like this and nowhere else.
Tell them that adults too do the same except that ours is the mommy(big) potty seat and yours is the baby(small) potty seat.
Give them time. If for the first time they don't try again after some time. They won't learn in seconds so please have patience while teaching any new thing to your kid.
My sister started training her daughter Gargi at 18 months and it took almost 2-3 months to learn it perfectly.

My niece at 18 months(1st day of potty training) |
Slowly my sister started training her on a potty seat.
Here is the video of her sitting on a potty seat and playing😜. Slowly she started learning to poop in it.
Gargi is now 3years and on her own, she removes the undies and goes to the potty seat. After that ask her mom to wash her hands and wear the undies.
